Your hosts Neroli and Chris welcome you to Rawhiti House
Geraldine's BBH World Traveller Accommodation.
The name Rawhiti, simply translated, means sunrise. A fitting name for our large sunny house as it originally opened in 1924 as Geraldine's
Maternity Hospital. Rawhiti House has retained interesting features from the building's history.
There is a pleasant outlook across our large garden to the village of Geraldine. We have the perfect place for you to relax and have a
good night's sleep before or after enjoying the great variety of activities available in the area (see activities).
Our guests constantly comment on how they enjoyed the quiet, peaceful surroundings, the comfortable beds, and the convenience of cafe's, restaurants and the historic local cinema only a short walk away.

Planning a Ski Trip?
Geraldine is only around 60 minutes from 4 commercial ski fields. The closest one only 30 minutes away. These 4 skifields are spread over 3 micro climates
so if one is closed the others could still be open. If the worst happens we have a multitude of things to do in the village while waiting for them to re-open.
Great place to base the ski trip.
Rawhiti House - Your Ski Getaway Base
Food for thought.
Even though Rawhiti House prices are among the cheapest in Geraldine for accommodation we provide fully made beds with commercially laundered sheets over Hotel quality mattresses. We continuously receive
the comment that it was the "best night's sleep". If you are thinking of staying in
Central South Island think of staying at Rawhiti House.
One of the many walks in Geraldine begins across the road from us.
Spend 1 to 3 hours walking through farmland and Geraldine's own native Talbot Forest,
then along the river bank into the village centre. Then a quick 5 minute walk takes
you back to Rawhiti House along the Geraldine streets.
The spacious main lounge allows for easy relaxing whether in front of the television,
reading a book or discussing future travels with the other travellers. The sun lounge
offers a place to get away from the others and have a quiet meal together, or you
can make the most of the Geraldine weather and relax outside in the barbecue area.
Rawhiti House, being sited on an Acre (4,400 sqm) of land, also offers a large
outdoor grass area where you can stretch out on the grass and relax.
For the vehicle based traveller to Geraldine, Rawhiti House also provides
plenty of off-road parking spaces. Even if every guest using the accommodation was
to have their own car, there would be still be a car park for you to use.
Thinking Geraldine Accommodation - Think Rawhiti House.
